Design patterns of social-ecological projects

Part of the research project is the documentation of a selection of social-ecological projects that have proven to be “best practice” examples. By analysing these projects, we have worked out design patterns (patterns) that can be found frequently and in different forms of expression in the projects. In a generalised form and in their interconnectedness, they should serve as a source of inspiration for project developers, architects and residents to develop their own social-ecological projects. This method is based on the “Pattern Language” by Christopher Alexander, Sara Ishikawa and Murray Silverstein (1977), who developed this concept with the intention of providing a tool for the planning and design of living cities, buildings and constructions.
